Fremantle Hospital's Emergency Department has closed

On Tuesday, 3 February 2015 the doors to Fremantle Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) closed. Emergency care is now provided at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Emergency mental health services are also provided at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Three emergency departments in close proximity will provide accident and emergency care, including Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands, and Royal Perth Hospital in Perth City.

The Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service (located in the Alma Street Centre) will continue to meet the evolving needs of our clients through the Assessment and Treatment Team (ATT) service.

The ATT provides emergency mental health services, both in the community and for persons presenting for triage at Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service, between 8am and 8pm seven days a week.

The ATT can be contacted via telephone between 8am and 10pm seven days a week on 9431 3555.

The Mental Health Emergency Response Line (MHERL) is available 24 hours a day to metro callers on 1300 555 788 (local call) and Peel callers on 1800 676 822 (free call).
