Fremantle Hospital (FH) recognised the contributions of its dedicated volunteers on Monday with its annual Volunteer Appreciation Day.

Around 35 volunteers attended a special morning tea and were presented with an appreciation certificate by Nurse Director and Acting Site Manager Michael Jacobson.

Michael said the hospital was lucky to have the support of such dedicated volunteers.

“These individuals give their time to help make each patient’s journey easier and we simply couldn’t do what we do without them,” he said.

“We are extremely grateful for their contribution to our health service.”

FH is supported by a range of volunteer groups, including:

  • Consumer Advisory Council
  • Mental Health consumer representatives
  • Ladies Auxiliary
  • Nara
  • Pastoral Care
  • Patient Transport Volunteers
  • Private Patient Liaison
  • Red Cross
