The Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service (FHMHS) Community Advisory Group (CAG) recently hosted an afternoon of music and healing for patients, staff and the community.

Held on 19 August, Music in the Courtyard involved a performance by community-based choir Sing Australia and plenty of audience participation.

After singing like stars, participants shared afternoon tea with the choir.

FHMHS CAG Chairperson Michelle Harries said the event “moved and united” participants.

“The event provided comfort, hope and enjoyment to participants,” Michelle said.

“The power of music took us down memory lane, fuelled our creativity and for some eased their pain by bringing peace.”

Michelle also acknowledged the support of FHMHS staff who helped make the event possible.
