Staff Development Service
We support the learning needs of staff by providing opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with advancing technologies, changing healthcare delivery systems and expanding roles. We offer quality-assured training and courses and qualifications. We offer a huge range of management, transition, clinical and information technology courses and many of our courses are accredited with the relevant professional bodies.
We provide staff development support that contributes to skill attainment, efficiency and effectiveness, and include all categories and classifications of staff. This involves identifying and responding to continuing training and development needs and providing a variety of programs that respond to the changing healthcare system and account for the personal and professional needs of staff. These opportunities include orientation, competency management, continuing education programs, formal and informal in-services, coaching and consulting.
Staff Development includes the simulation centre which is available for all staff to undertake training in recognising and responding to clinical deterioration. The simulation centre creates ward and unit based scenarios which reflect real-world experiences.
