Outpatients
Outpatient appointments during COVID-19
Read how South Metropolitan Health Service is
managing outpatient appointments during COVID-19 and about digital outpatient appointments.
Our outpatient services
We assist all medical and surgical specialties in their care of patients who do not need hospital admission and perform minor surgery in ophthalmology.
New patients can be referred to us, as can existing patients who require follow-up care after discharge or surgery.
We liaise closely with the Pre-admission Clinic to ensure optimal care for patients being admitted for surgery.
Patient information
Read more about the outpatients service, including clinic locations, changing appointments and what to bring to your appointment.
We encourage you to be actively involved in all aspects of your healthcare and invite you to read the Patient First booklet found throughout Fremantle Hospital.
Please note that appointment times are guides only. Waiting times between clinics will vary and several clinics run together.
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call Outpatient Direct (not the clinic) on 1300 855 275. Read more about how to manage your outpatient appointment using Outpatient Direct (external site).
Outpatient audit
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is commencing an outpatient reform project in July 2019.
In preparation for this, SMHS outpatient waitlist data is being audited to provide an accurate picture of the number of referred patients awaiting their first outpatient appointment. Read more about this audit (external site).
