Rehabilitation in the Home
Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) provides short to medium term hospital-substitution allied health therapy for clients at home, to facilitate early discharge from hospital. The multidisciplinary RITH team works with patients on achievable goals over the period of their rehabilitation. The team consists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics, speech therapy, therapy assistants and a medical registrar.
There is a RITH team based at Fremantle Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Rockingham General Hospital and Armadale Hospital and a satellite base at Fiona Stanley Hospital. RITH services the South Metropolitan Health Region.
Information for GPs
RITH is a hospital substitution service and referrals are accepted from allied health staff at public hospitals only. Referrals need to be phoned through to the admissions therapist for acceptance. RITH informs the patient’s GP of a referral to the RITH service and liaises with GP’s as required.
